Born in Wilmington, DE, E.H. Harvey Jr got an AB in English at Harvard, where he wrote for the daily Crimson and in senior year did a column for the monthly alum magazine. In New York he wrote and edited nonfiction (science, medicine, nature, history, Bible exegesis, economics) for children and adults, mostly for Scholastic and Reader’s Digest General Books. Doubleday published three of his children books; Crowell, one; and Morrow, his co-authored adult book on the Moon shot, which received a front-page NY Times Sunday book-section review. Then he made a rather spiritless assault on staff ladders. Much of this finds its way into his second novel Wiley at the Gates of Paradise: A Romantic Family Saga. He lived in Brooklyn for 30 years, has known the Adirondacks since before he can remember, and now lives in Rhode Island with his wife Gail.
